The Springbank of tequila according to Springbank’s former sales manager, and we’re inclined to agree. This hails from the famed La Alteña distillery using piñas harvested on-site, traditional wooden fermentation tanks and natural airborne yeast, producing a funky, farmy treat with its vegetal nose, specks of nutmeg and clove, and the sugar sweetness of roasted agave still chiming through after five plus years in wood. The total package is just glorious, and no less than aficionados have come to expect from master distiller Carlos Camarena.
